Visual Arts

The Art department at Shelford Girls' Grammar is dynamic, diverse and exciting. Works by 12 of our senior students were recognised by the Association of Independent Schools of Victoria (AISV) at the opening of their Annual Art Exhibition at Shell House, Spring Street in Melbourne recently.

The show featured a number of works from Victorian Independent Schools. When viewing the artworks it highlighted the strong skill development, talent and maturity of our young Shelford Artists. The artworks included acrylics on canvas paintings, dry point etchings and large grey lead pencil drawings. The works were recently displayed at AISV's own gallery and can currently also be viewed on their website at http://www.ais.vic.edu.au/gallery/

The Art Department at Shelford Girls' Grammar is a stimulating place for students to learn how to use a broad range of art media. The AISV exhibition was a fantastic opportunity for the girls, their families and peers, to see their artworks exhibited. The girls have created some very impressive artworks and it is fantastic that their achievements were recognised by their inclusion in this exhibition.

Every year Art across the School from the Early Learning Centre across to Year 12 is on display, showcasing the talented students and staff, in a dynamic Exhibition that is open to the public as well as the Shelford Community.
